The laws of man and the laws of God have always been a part of the fabric in this country, but never so intertwined as in Miami Beach, Florida.  Frank Brickman was a lawman in this community for 27 years. On the streets and in its stores, he was charged with enforcing the laws of Moses and man. Four decades ago, there were more Kosher hotels in Miami Beach than all the other cities in this country combined.  It was a $22 million dollar a year business.  Frank Brickman made sure people got what they came for. He was a city employee with the power to close, confiscator or condemn any Kosher business that did not meet religious requirements.  He could arrest without a warrant for any violation he saw.  His word was almost law.  In 87 court cases, he lost only 1.
